Nokia 5110 LCD Display Module
The Nokia 5110 LCD Display Module – Red is a display module derived from the screens used in old Nokia 5110/3310 cell phones, now popularly adopted by hobbyists for various graphic and text applications.
Despite its industrial heritage, this LCD display is remarkably user-friendly. Originally designed for cell phones, the Nokia 5110 is a basic graphic LCD screen that has found widespread use in numerous applications.
Mounted on a convenient PCB, the Nokia 5110 LCD Module utilizes a Philips PCD8544 LCD driver, specifically engineered for mobile devices.
Featuring a resolution of 84 x 48 pixels, the Nokia 5110 LCD Display Module offers a cost-effective solution for displaying both graphics and text. This revised module operates with a 5V input, eliminating the need for an additional level shifter.
Utilizing the PCD8544 controller, the same chip found in the Nokia 3310 LCD, this module ensures efficient power consumption and minimal external components. The controller drives a graphic display of 48 rows and 84 columns, offering all necessary functions for display operation within a single chip. Additionally, the PCD8544 interfaces seamlessly with microcontrollers through a serial bus interface, enhancing its versatility and ease of integration.
